Motic's new AE2000 Inverted Microscope is designed for routine live cell inspection with an easy and flexible set up, ideal for University, routine clinical, and lab environments. A revolutionary design packed with features, the AE2000 sets a new benchmark in affordable inverted microscopy.

Available with Binocular, Trinocular, or Binocular Ergo head. The Color Corrected Infinity Optical System (CCIS) maximizes optical clarity and scalability of the entire microscope. The auto on/off function of the power supply saves energy and extends the lifespan of the sample and light bulb. Another added feature, a modular interchangeable illumination concept, allows for the easy transition from Halogen to LED to fulfill a wide-range of viewing expectations. The improved phase contrast quality of the model makes the instrument suitable for a greater range of applications that demand precision optics.

The entire microscope including optical system is manufactured now completely Lead Free, following the International RoHS regulations.

Developed with the worst environments envisioned, this system is anti-fungus treated to protect it against fungus growth to ensure image clarity and excellent optical performance.

THE LIGHT SOURCE & CONDENSER

The basic package includes an intensity controlled, class-leading 6V/30W Quartz Halogen illumination system, providing bright, even illumination at any magnification.

The AE2000 also supports LED illumination by replacing the Halogen bulb with an optional small LED module.

The AE2000 offers a clever concept to find the best compromise between working distance and illumination quality. The dovetail mounting allows a quick change between the two condensers. A single phase ring set covers both condensers, ensuring maximum flexibility. When the condenser is removed, the maximum free working distance is 184mm.

AUTO ON/OFF

As a new safety precaution, Motic implemented a "sleep mode" on the AE2000, based on an IR-sensor. This motion sensor detects a user in front of the microscope, and automatically turns off the microscope when it is left for more than 15 minutes. By returning to the instrument, the power is reactivated, making the Motic AE2000 a "power-smart" microscope.

FOCUSABLE EYEPIECES

The included widefield high eye point 10X/20mm eyepieces with diopter adjustment provide both comfort and an impressively wide field of view. A variety of reticules for measuring purposes are available, including graduated linear hair point (0.1mm/10mm), graduated cross hair point (0.1mm/10mm), and plain cross hair. Optional higher magnification eyepieces also available.

OBSERVATION HEADS/EYEPIECE TUBES

Available with Binocular, Trinocular, or Binocular Ergonomic Tilting observation head. The Siedentopf-type binocular and trinocular eyepiece tubes rest at a comfortable 45-degree angle, making those long periods of observation and preparation less tiring and painful.

Each eyepiece tube allows a 360° swiveling movement, as well as, a flexible adjustment of the interpupillary distance between 48 and 75mm. The "butterfly" mode increases the viewing height by 40mm. All eyepiece tubes offer a 20mm Field of View (FOV20).

The Trinocular head has a built-in slider to direct the light path to either the binocular tubes or the trinocular output with a beam split of 20:80, and has optional adapters for video and photo cameras. Motic offers a complete range of Moticam cameras, in both affordable CMOS and scientific grade CCD options.

The binocular Ergo version gives the additional freedom to vary the standard viewing angle by +/-15°, allowing a viewing angle range of 30°-60°.

NOSEPIECE

The side facing quadruple revolving nosepiece accepts four objectives. Nosepiece is sealed to prevent fluid spills from getting into the inner instrument mechanics.

The AE2000 offers a completely upgraded class of Plan Achromat lenses within the Color Corrected Infinity Optical System (CCIS) concept. Bright field and phase contrast objectives are available in 4X, 10X, 20X, and 40X. Optimized multi-layer coating for improved contrast. Carefully selected glass quality for better transmission. Lead-free manufacturing.

STAGE AND ACCESSORIES

The microscope comes with a low positioned stage. All standard packages include a glass stage insert and a new metal insert. A hard coating protects the stage from abrasion and wear. Changing objectives is made more comfortable as the tempered glass stage insert allows for the nosepiece to be viewed during operation, without having to remove the specimen from the stage. To enlarge the standard size of the stage (200 x 239mm), optional auxiliary extension plates are available. This allows the width of the working plate to be extended up to 333mm.

An optional attachable precision mechanical stage with low positioned coaxial controls is also available as are several inserts and Petri dish holders, making the AE2000 a truly versatile inverted microscope.

PHASE CONTRAST MICROSCOPY

The Plan Achromat Phase objectives, coupled with a simple phase slider, provide outstanding contrast images for even the most demanding applications.

For a quick and easy change of magnification, a centerable ring is provided for 10X and 20X phase objection in the phase slider. The center position of the slider is for bright-field microscopy.
